GENERAL NOTES
- BODY DIAMETER (D) refers to the unthreaded cylindrical portion of the screw.
- HEADS will be knurled and mared with strength grade M5 and above.
- HEAD CHAMFER (S). The heads shall be chamfered. The chamfer angle shall be 30-45 degrees.
- SCREW POINTS of sizes M5 and larger shall be chamfered.
- THREADS. Shall conform to ANSI B1.13M Class 4g6g Coarse Series.
- MATERIALS. Steel, high grade alloy, hardened by quenching in oil from the hardening temperature and tempered to a specified hardness range of Rockwell C39 to 43.
--Tensile Stress 1220 MPa. Min.
--0.2% Yield Stress - 1100 MPa. Min.
- THREAD LENGTH (LT) The length of thread shall be measured, parallel to the axis of screw, from the extremem point to the last complete (full form) thread. Short length screws that do not have a body will be threaded as follows:
(A) Diameters through M16 inclusive shall have a maximum of 2 imperfect threads under the head.
(B) Diameters above M16 shall be threaded as close to the head as practicable.
- LENGTH (L). Tolerance on L is bilateral and varies with diameter and length - See Standards.
- Holo-Krome Standard Socket Head Cap Screws conform to ASME/ANSI B 18.3.1M.
